With autumn just around the corner, there’s no better time to restore any damage to your skin due to sun exposure during summer holidays.
Holidays are definitely full of fun times! However, they tend to take their toll on your skin. During summer season skin tends to get dehydrated basically because of extended exposure to UV.
Before we say bye-bye to summer days, let your skin take some rest & prepare it for the upcoming season! Can you reclaim your pre-holiday glow? Of course, yes! Check out the following tips on how to handle skin when summer holidays are over.
1. Cleanse
At this season of the year take the time to soothe and nourish your skin. You need to give your skin proper hydration, especially after holidays. Prefer products full of antioxidant-rich ingredients like turmeric and vitamin C to help calm, clean and brighten your complexion. Also some products that contain Calendula extract, Lavender or Chamomile essential oil can make wonders to your skin as they are calming, anti-inflammatory & skin repairing ingredients.
3. Serum
Look for high-quality serum to repair skin damage. After the holidays, your skin needs all the help it can get. Use a serum to hydrate and protect your skin. Serums deliver a more dose of hydration, anti-ageing benefits & speed repair because they are lighter and contain a higher concentration of ingredients. A serum as it reaches deeper into the skin, does more serious work at repairing and rejuvenating the skin than a regular moisturizer does. It contains antioxidants to protect the skin from further damage & it has brightening ingredients to restore your skin’s radiance. It has anti-aging ingredients to help ward off the signs of aging. Their use is simple, just pump a small amount into your palm and smooth gently over your entire face &neck. Use along or combined with your moisturizing face cream for an extra boost.
4. Moisturize
Apply moisturizer after you wash your face or take a shower so that your skin can effectively absorb the moisture. Moisturizing regularly will keep your skin soft & young-looking! Look for a revitalizing moisturizer to fight dryness, nourish your skin, and replenish and lock in moisture.
5. SPF
Spf stands for sun protection factor & essentially refers to the amount of protection a product offers against the sun’s damaging rays. But, you may wonder:”Why do I need to wear sunscreen all year round, even in the cloudy winter days”? Well, except for protection against skin cancer, sunscreens are the best & most effective anti-ager when it comes to prevent premature wrinkles.
3 Extra Useful Tips
❤ Indulge in long & relaxing baths.
Another way to detoxify your skin is to take a bath. Customize your bath by adding in water a cup of baking soda & Epsom salts. You can also add Ginger essential oil(10 drops) to your bath water. Lie in your bath for about 15-20 mins. After your bath, wrap a blanket around your body or a towel around your head to stimulate your body to perspire more and release more toxins. ❤ Allow your skin to breathe. Does your skin look dry after the holidays? It is time to pay more attention to your skin. Skin care experts say that one of the kindest things you can do for your skin post-holiday is to let it breathe. Stop putting on heavy make-up. If you can get away with just a dab of lipstick, then do so. ❤ Wash your make-up brushes. If you didn’t have enough time to clean your make-up brushes prior or duringholidays, now is the best time to do it. If you don’t wash your make-up brushes, they may still have fractions of old eye shadow, blush, or foundation. They may keep bacteria. When you put on make-up with these brushes, you are risking skin inflammation or irritation. How to do it: Put some facial cleanser in warm water. Use this mixture to wash your brushes with & thoroughly work the cleansing solution through the bristles with your fingers. Then, rinse the brushes with running water. Use a clean towel to absorb most of the moisture & leave them to air-dry completely.

As being in the middle of the summer, we are all counting down the days for holidays! We are just longing for the time of absolute relaxation lying on the beach all day long! However, preventing sunburns & sun damage becomes increasingly important.
Sometimes we have difficulty in finding the right balance between the time we spend in the sun absorbing some vitamin D & healthy living. Many people avoid or forget to apply thick layers of sunscreen on most of the body multiple times throughout the day. Although skin cancer & vitamin D deficiency are health issues with important increase in recent decades, lack of sun exposure can cause other health problems. Here follow some smart tips to help you protect your skin naturally & find the balance between carefree fun under the sun & healthy living!
Avoid Sunscreen with Chemical UV Filters. Use Sunscreen with Mineral Filters
One of the most concerning chemical filters is oxybenzone, which is found in a majority of non-mineral sunscreens and many cosmetics. It can cause allergic reactions, cell damage and may disrupt hormone levels within the body. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO) are mineral UV filters that physically block or deflect the UV rays from the skin. Ensure Healthy Levels of Vitamin D If you are trying to naturally increase your vitamin D levels with the sun, short periods of sun exposure are ideal. Keep in mind that your skin has a limit. Overexposure to the sun doesn’t increase your vitamin D production and can result in sun damage.
Healthy Diet: Eat Foods That Offer Sun Protection
Not only choosing the right sunscreen helps you to avoid sunburns. It may sound you a little bit strange but it’s true! Your diet plays a major role in your skin protection from harmful sunlight & boosts vitamin D. Nutrition works as a sunscreen that protects you from the sun inside-out. Eat foods that are naturally rich in it vitamin D. Prefer fatty fish like tuna, mackerel & salmon; egg yolks; beef liver; and cheese. Also include in your diet food full of Omega-3 as they help prevent skin damages. Cod liver oil can be taken as a supplement and naturally contains very large amounts of vitamin D. Other foods that are commonly supplemented with vitamin D, including orange juice, are dairy products and soy milk.
Extra Sun-block Tips
Wearing a wide-brimmed sunhat and sunglasses is a great way to avoid sun damage on the face. If you are concerned about overexposure, wearing long sleeves is also a great option. Darker fabrics are more effective in keeping the rays off, although warm during the hot summer days.
In case of any sun irritation or skin dehydration, it's is recommedned to have with you a body moisturizer.I recommend you Bloomey After Sun Soothing & Moisturizing Body Butter.
Based on the healing properties of Aloe Vera, it is what your skin really needs during summer time. The rosewater, panthenol & aloe vera gel synergy can really rejuvenate your skin, provide a natural after sun treatment & sun burn relief. Lavender & tea-tree essential oils are also added to boost the soothing effect and give skin a calming sense.
Keep on enjoying the sunny days!

Face masks are an easy and inexpensive way to treat your skin gently and pamper yourself! Choosing the right face mask for your skin to accomplish many different benefits is the one big part but applying it correctly on your skin is also important.
You may now be wondering.... What should we keep in mind when we offer ourselves a facial mask treatment? How can we have a healthy glowing skin with just a little effort and time?
TIMING: The best time to apply your mask is after a shower or bath. Alternatively, warm up the pores by doing a quick 5 minute steam facial. Pour boiling water into a bowl and lean over the bowl while keeping your head and bowl covered with a towel to trap the steam. Another way is to take a warm-hot face cloth and apply to face pressing in.
FACE MASK APPLY: Pop your mask into a bowl. You may apply the mask with either your fingers or a face mask brush. There are different brushes depending on whether you are applying a clay mask, cream mask or a gel mask.
TIP: If you have some cucumber slices chill with a couple of slices on your eyes. Cucumbers are soothing and cooling and will add hydration whilst reducing any puffiness around the eye.
FACE MASK REMOVAL: You can use a face cloth, face sponge or your fingers and remove by making circular sweeping movements over the face and neck. Finish with the splash of warm water and then cold.
